Certainly NOD32 seems to do very well in the tests on that site.... Agree whole heartedly with CB... The good payware ones are hard to beat. And at on average £35 thats just under £3 per month. :)

Again thanks for the help. I decided to take CB's advice , Kapersky is now in and running. Got the key at half the price is it
on this side of the pond. Only one process running, gotta love that. So I'm now a convert from Norton.

I've been trying Kaspersky over the last few days (trial mode). I found that on web pages that have a lot of images (google image search, airliners.net etc) only about half the pictures will show at first, the rest appear after 8-10 seconds. If I disable Kasperky the pages display fine. Tried fiddling with various settings but to no avail. Bit annoying.

After years of hating Nortons and McAfee we have used only Avast here for some time...My family also use it on my recommendation and we all love it...An excellent program and not intrusive :flying:

BTW good luck with removing Nortons...It clings on like s...to a blanket when you try to remove it. If you don't get a reported successful uninstall then re-install it fully and have it all active and then uninstall and this should report success. However it will still have left little prodders around in your registry and something like Registry Mechanic is needed to cleanse your machine of the last vestiges of this disgraceful program.
