It was grey with a pale blue stripe! I found this picture today of G-ATSC and I would imagine that is the standard scheme, looking at other B and W images I have. The grey does seem to have a blue/green(ish) hue though.

Mr. Quantum sir,
Where does one get the Wessex from?
I dont normally fly helicopters, keep away from anything that flies and hasn't got wings, but the Wessex has always been a favourite and I'd like to give it a try.
Also whats that scenery, looks cool.
I remember being told once, "you don't fly a helcopter, you just stop it from crashing"

Hi Steve the model is the
Simshed HU5, painted as a Mk60. The main external difference is the Mk 60 should really have shorter exhaust efluxes and a different aerial layout. I doubt with his current workload Brian F would have the time to modify those.
My book on the Wessex says that this scheme was standard across the Bristows fleet until the adoption of the current red, white and blue we see around the coast nowadays.
The scenery comes from (I guess) here......

Hi,
Yes, it is the Simshed RAF Wessex and the ODG UKEZ scenery. I am at the point of ditching those colours and going with the grey. A quick play with colour enhancements in PSP make the colours look very much like the 'standard' grey. So, the greeny/blue will not get released and I am currently looking at the different variations of the other Bristow colour schemes. Luckily, photos of the later liveries show the colours much clearer. Regarding the oil rig scenery and the Bristow Wessex, we shall shortly be introducing these into service with the CBFS VA. The rig scenery files will need to be 'adjusted' manually to remove rigs that were commissioned post Wessex operational time. Details down in the VA forum area 'Aircraft and Routes'.

Hi,
I shall not be releasing this repaint due to the wrong interpretation of colours from a possibly degraded photograph. I've just re-done them in the more commonly recognised grey colour schemes as well as the later red/white/blue scheme. Please let this thread die a natural death and post in the new thread which will appear shortly.
