Yes, I wonder if they knew about that particular WIP...

Still, the AlphaSim one has the Mk IV included, so I guess there's something extra to offer (besides the earlier release date ).

I'm sure they did Tweek ;-)

Paul.. it's not that I don't like the front of the Mk1.. just how it's represented on the Alpha shots mate. I don't think it's the right shape to be honest

Ah, ok. I'll take your word for it Dave, as I'm not that familiar enough with the type to say either way. What exactly is wrong with it ?

Hi Matey

I can see lots of errors on the Mk1 as i have original Bristol drawings to work from

But it's far more Blenheim like than the Market has had before so it will do the job.

I have no plans for anything other than my Mk1 so no major problem and it will give me more time to use the £50 worth of Pilots notes & drawings to get the VC accurate.

wonder how Alpha are going to make the inside as that was the reason i paused production as there is almost no accurate info available only some tiny shots of prototype aircraft
with nothing visible :dunno:

in the end i had to buy the info.

Regards
Rick

I'd have to agree with MrB..

..there's something not right about that Mk1 nose....

I'll wait for Ricks version ;-)

Derek :)

Rick,

By coincidence I found this on ebay today. A photo of a Blenheim cockpit, apparently from a private collection. It appears to be a Mk 1 to me :dunno: . Any use to you?

I this person has a number of great photos. I particulary like this one:

I really hope your Blenheim does get to see the light of day at some point. It really looks fantastic in the preview pics you've posted in the past.

The Blenheim at Duxford is a Mk IVT (Bollingbroke) ;-)

The "airworthy" (well sort of at some point) is indeed a Bolingbroke but upon rebuild (post landing whoopsie) it shall become a Mk 1. :)

Hiya HC!! :)

You surprise me there mate. I had a dive around her not long after the event and the nose section was as far as I remember, completely untouched. She'd hit just fwd of midships and crumpled up the bomb bay and there were creases in the upper fuse but the nose was fine. I have phots somewhere (don't we all)

Having a shorter nose will not make up for cocking up fuel management but it WILL be interesting to see ;-)

I'm no expert, but I think the problems come from the damage around the wing root and floor. Certainly I remember reading something about the mk IV cockpit being a write-off in effect. This picture here shows the airframe restoration, with the IV cockpit alongside. I assume the Mk 1 cockpit is in one of the sheds behind the hangars. :)

Mmmm... :)

Edit - here's the new nose WIP http://www.blenheimsociety.org.uk/MkI%20nose.htm
