Re: Paul's Canberra project status
HEllo all,
the latest from Paul is that he is now in bug checking stage and hopes to release the B.2 variant pack in the next couple of weeks. I have not seen anything since my last post model-wise, but will keep you in the loop if I hear anything more. Hopefully we'll be eating cranberries with our turkey for Christmas, if you know what I mean!

Thanks Steve, I was going to ask about this project. It looks like the wait may well be worth it! Can you point him to Classic British files as another good home, to upload to?

I will certainly try, Trev, as I fully agree. My repaints will definitely be going there.

Re: Paul's Canberra project status
Latest update, well sort of - I've been preparing the B(I).8 model for repainting and have now finished all template work. Got my first one done tonight, a 3 sqn scheme in honour of Les Bywaters, XH208. This should give you a feel for how nice Paul's new model is:

Flipping gorgeous is the word, Leif! These new models are beautiful, Paul has really outdone himself with them. An absolute joy to paint (and fly) I can tell you. Mind you, I am still using the old B(I).8 modified flight dynamics by Kevin for this new model, so I don't know what the FDEs will be like. Being more of a painter, I'm not so worried as long as it LOOKS good, which it does!

Looking great those B(I).8 versions. Is that dynamic shine in the model or are they alpha's there Steve?
And my favourite is going to be all the variations. Can't choose my favourite, although the export B2 will bring nostalgia to life. I am sure with all the time and effort that Paul has put in that they'll be absolute stunners. Oh, last but not least, lovely repaints there Steve. Keep it up and I will personally send the cranberries for the turkey. xwink

Re: Paul's Canberra project status
Hello Sean!
The model is built with reflective textures added, so no need for usual jiggery pokery with the shiny plugin. However, I am using alphas to determine the level of shine which in this case was fairly high given the glossiness of the scheme.
I agree, the 8s look nice, but the B.2 is nice too - I just finished a new Argentine camo job and the ultra-high vis all-orange German scheme. There'll be plenty more colours of Cranberry for you to get your teeth into, and rest assured the RRAF will be well-treated. On that note, if there are any Xmas requests along these lines, put your orders in now as I am gearing up for full production mode!
Cheers,
Steve
