If the unthinkable should be, that you are STILL on FS9 :-)

then I would most certainly continue to work with those old freeware programs, TTools, AFCAD etc....
I can't see ANY reason to spend good money, on something you can have better for free.

Like for example... I seriously doubt that anybody here with their good sense in behold would give money for a certain Ab.... product 'developed' by a "D" ... that seems to copy every single move our own "D" takes ...... No names said ..(!)

Aaaah.. FS9 :goodman:

I've had the odd dabble too Andy but that's it. I delved into PeterM's Mcleland Field and substituted some of his military AI for UK versions and loaded (under the instruction of the infamous DanKH) a complete set of Retro AI on this PC but the latter was very much a case of monkey see.. monkey do. I had little actual idea of what I was doing.. I just did as I was told  Some of the guys out there have pc's loaded with brill AI and their screenies look the doggies. I just can't find the motivation or interest to do it myself :-( The best I ever got was using an old 'Traffic' prog (payware) and with that, you click on the aircraft you want to see and then hit the 'ADD' button. Very much how I like to work

Don't be shy Dave. As I recall it, what took all the time was the sh..load of files I send you.

I only read out the Readme's ... They were written in English, so it is quite understandable that you had difficulties understanding them

I also recall that we only got half-way or such, as the more you altered your setup the lower your FPS went .... it was a downward slope, and maybe a very wise decision you made to back-off in due time ... ;-)

Anyway if you find the courage to continue some day I'll be there

infamous or not

Thank you for those kind words Dan (if there were any there that is)

I thank you again for your sterling efforts that dark night (to early/late morning as it became). A useful exercise and one that I hope never to repeat again. ;-) The irony is.. I don't use that pc for flying anymore :worried:

Words aimed at you will always be kind, I can promise you that.

I wouldn't be the first time my efforts has been wasted though. It is a cruel world, anyway I hope that you have some kind of a 'Retro'-setup.

You know, Retro is Modern again .....

I'm sure there is some kind of contradiction in that, but it's too late to sort it out now...

'Group Hug' ;-) Likewise Dan ;-) I really liked seeing Retro aircraft everywhere and tbh, I'm sad I don't have it installed on this system (I'm on the 3200 and not the 2400). Good news is that 'Sharing Folders' works on here (no idea why but it does) which would make things a little easier. Perhaps a 'shortened' version.. eg, just AI aircraft and not bits like LHR and SeaTac loosing many valuable hundreds of feet of runway would be the way to go. It would be nice to see my CS757 out of place rather than every other model I have out of place ;-)
