Why we can#t really paint the 2EXCEL scheme

It's a nice looker, and the 2EXCEL aerobatics team really do perform well...
BUT...
The default Extra texture has only one Aileron for a start, so the underneath will look wrong. The 2Excel planes have asymmetric paints. This is one permanent plea I have with all modellers - please please don't map opposites to the same object - you might save a few minutes, but you automatically exclude a fair few colour schemes.
I know I fouled up the underside - should be other way round
AND I haven't made an "own" spec for her yet, so you can see "interesting" situations... and serves as a hint/lesson about spec...

I don't think using shared textures is done to save time as you can have a left and right bitmap and use the same mappimg just pointed to the other bitmap.
I thinik in the default MS case it is done to keep the bitmpas to a minimum to help the sim run on the l;owest spec possible.

Agreed, Gary - after a fashion. A couple of FW devs have, in the past, re-mapped their models to give us an asymmetric option. And there's a plane (in beta, so I can't say) that actually works with over 40 MB of textures at runtime...
Just a pity I can't really help with this request. I am actually quite taken by the paintscheme.

I will get that as I think The blades are a brilliant display team and I am getting Bord off the other Extra 300 |-) Do you know that they are all Ex-Red Arrow Pilots Blade one was Red 1 and as he left the Red arrows he started The Blades

James, if you'd actually bother to read the page that you posted you'd find that Andy Offer didn't start the Blades as he left the 'Sparrows, he led the them between '99 and '01 but founded 2 Excel in '06.

Oh Sorry it was Dave slow who left the Reds/RAF and joined the Blades straight afterwards :doho: But Andy Offer co-founded 2 Excel Aviation as you/we Said ;-)
