i agree with Peter McLeland that there is nothing to touch Avast

Same here - I dumped Norton about three years ago, really because I was fed up with the nags to renew and the ever increasing fee to do so.

Found Avast, got rid of the bloatware Norton (a big hassle) and have never looked back.

Latest test of antivirus packages by PCPro.

Of the free ones they rate Avira for virus protection, but it lacks in other areas.

Used to use a variaty of 'em

Now use AVG Free all the way. I''ll admit that at one point I was using Norton on the basis that if I payed for it, surely it would be better than something that was free....how wrong I turned out to be!
