Thanks Vegas, I'll have a look at that.

As Jetty says, the Pilots version must have had the longest gestation period of any FS payware product! I bought the B314 pack within days of its announcement and their Tri-Star was mentioned on the CD even back then!

This Tristar is part of a package that includes the DC-8 and the DC-10. Both are not anywhere near the same standard as the Tristar although the 10 is very nice externally it is let down by a poor VC. The DC-8 is very poor and is shadowed by quality freeware offerings such as those at HJG.

First post - been lurking for ages.

Having seen the Tristar screenshots posted by Vegas I purchased the Aerosim set and downloaded a couple of Pete Shaws repaints.

Having problems installing the repaints. Can someone prove a more detailed explaination than included in the readme.

Thanks in anticipation

Cheers

Hi Ned,

Welcome to the nut house.

Adding new textures to the Aerosim Tristar should be relatively straightforward. Firstly which folder are you adding them to?

The Classic Liners package has two Tristar files; L1011 and L1011-500. The RAF texture MUST be added to the 500 folder or they won't work. Have you done this? The exact name of the folder should be AS_L1011_500_CL2

Secondly, the RAF textures come with a little cfg folder that provides data to add to your exisiting cfg folder. The cfg folder for the L1011-500 is also found in AS_L1011_500_CL2. Just copy and paste the data inside the RAF cfg folder to the cfg folder in the AS_L1011_500_CL2 folder and change the [fltsim.xx] into the next one in sequence which should be [fltsim.3]

Clear as mud?

Hope this helps

Thanks for rapid reply

That explains my probs.

I bought the Classic Freighters, first thing I saw.

Will fly in what I have got at the moment. I'll make believe I'm on a conversion course. If I pass the course I'll get the right one later.

Cheers
