I don't do any plastic modelling now Steve, but I used to use very fine lead shot encased in Milliput. Worked like a dream!

I'm sure I have read some of your modelling articles in one of those modelling magazines, Andy. That was a fantastic tip with the lead-shot I still use that technique till this day. Mind you, I still leave some of my models in the naturally occuring take-off position, with it being tail heavy and all, because it looks like it wants to fly. The model manufacturers must have designed it in for a reason.

Glad to see we are/were on the same page, as lead shot and fishing weights are pretty much the same thing really. I like the plasticine to encase them as it is fairly weighty itself. I only got back into modelling two years ago but don't make many, having a kid and hardly any space to store them. I think if I make another my wife will kill me! :shock:

Are you looking particularly for the CScale Cranberry Mk 22 set? If so I think you'll be extremely lucky find any, that was one of the first sets they did and the moulds didn't last that long due to the shape, so they are always were in short supply.

If it's any other conversion kit in any other material I expect I have at least one of them stored in The Loft.

When we first moved to the Forest of Dean in the early 80s, my wife and I were discussing whether it had been a good idea about a year later. I reckoned the only bad point was the lack of a decent local model shop. She said she knew of a very good one close by and I asked her where it was as I certainly didn't know about it.

OK, no probs, I'll make up a list for you.

Been living here in Lydney since 1982, about 7-8 miles from Clearwell Caves. The previously mentioned wife loves them to bits and I usually ferry her up there a few times each year, but after the first underground expedition she won't get me down there again! :redface:

She's 'oohing' and 'aaahing' over the colours and shapes of the rocks and I'm calculating the compressive forces on the rock pillars and figuring out if Euler's Theorem applies to struts of that length/width ratio. Standing on top of the Severn Bridge (in visual range from my front door) wouldn't trouble me a jot, but down that deep underground, thank you no!

Heh, it was a bit cramped down there if I remember. Not something for the claustrophobic at all! Still, a lovely area, and I am suitably jealous.
