After the first bounce I would have gone around. I remember flying at a dodgy school in Florida. No body told me the aircraft idled at 1500 RPM in flight. That approach filled my pants and gave me my fair share of go arounds. On the 4th attempt I got bored and a tad worried so broke circuit and lined up to final approach at 3 miles just to slow it down. Luckily the circuit was empty and the extra few miles allowed me to establish a nice approach speed.
