The prop texture I have from the original pack doesn't look like yours Rick. Is it possible someone substituted yours into their file for screenshots or a repaint?

Thanks, that stacks up with the stuff I have too from Rob B. but I thought someone had done a specific file for the 'dyne. There is a special version of Rob's VTOL file to go with one of the Convair XFY-1 Pogos that works pretty well, and I thought the 'dyne file was like that.
I'll bet you can't just swap files and gauges etc from one a/c to another using Rob's XML magic, but I might just try it and see what happens.

I just went through Ito's file and modified the flaps and the pitch settings with the flaps to get a little better performance. Here is what I have (I think I just modified the first set, but here's both JIC):

Be sure if you extract Rob's gauge, you need to have a clean install of the Rotodyne. If you modified the aircraft back when it was released (from
this thread) it is not compatible with Rob's gauge.
I haven't had enough time to test the two out side-by-side for any length of time, but from first impressions of how Rob's gauge works, I kinda liked the earlier modification a bit better. Even though it's not quite as maneuverable when hovering, I liked being able to take off on the rotor alone and then "free-wheel" the rotor when transitioning to horizontal flight and still fly at the right speeds.

John I hope you're going to release your paint-scheme, it looks real good on her. A Royal Navy scheme would be nice too, a useful machine for carrier work
Chris, what do you mean be 'able to take off on rotor alone', you should be able to do that with Rob's gauge into a Hover before transitioning ?

Ito modelled the 2 Napier's as engine #1 and #2 with the rotor as engine #3. With the "modified" flight model that I have that was modified by someone over at Sim Outhouse (see the link in my last post) you were able to take off with #3 only and leave #1 and #2 at idle. With Rob's gauge, you need all 3 engines run up to be able to take off and then all 3 engines to attain the correct cruising speeds. If you idle the #3 engine on the model with Rob's gauge, you get <190 knots instead of the more correct 240-250 knots. Nothing against Rob's gauge though. I just like the ability to operate somewhat realistically with the earlier mod, even if I can't hover as well.
