Really annoys me when you get people who do this kind of thing.
Unfortunately the courts nowadays tend to lean on the side of leniency these days rather than impose the type of sentence that would deem suitable, be it to reduce the prison overcrowding or may be the fact that they offenders have not been in trouble before (more likely never previously caught)!!!!
When this or other types of destructive deeds are done and the culprits are caught then it should be name and shame time via the press and on posters affixed strategically around the towns or cities of where they live.....but then again, the Human Rights act will probably fall on their side.
Sod the Human Act I say.......Bring back public floggings with the birch!!

I think that "arson" is pure conjecture...There were probably a lot of flamable wood shavings etc. lying around from the dismantling work and some power tool left plugged in. Or some such solution. What hard evidence is there for arson?

Hi Peter..
None thus far. We're just speculating on new policing laws
I gather from news reports that a car was seen in the area prior to the fire and it's occupants noted. It may turn out to be completely innocent.. on the other hand, it may not. Police are studying CCTV footage

It seems now though that they might be having second thoughts?
Kind regards

Unless there are witnesses or decent CCTV footage then this sort of offence is difficult to prove especially seeing as many vital pieces of evidence are normally toasted to a crisp in the fire. I'm sure the Fire service investigation will confirm or negate any criminal activity.
The Police may well establish a malicious ignition but finding the scum that committed it is another case. Lets hope they do.
