I'll give it a try then. and putting all my newly converted files in a folder of it's own. As I understand you, than FSX will use both kinds? It is only when they resides in the same folder, you have the problem of selecting the former style (heaven knows why)

Is it the one that is now called FP_FS9_FSX?

No Dan. Traffic BGL's must live in the ..\scenery\world\scenery folder otherwise the sim won't process them. Move all of your old FSD traffic bgl's to a new folder outwith FS. Run the tool against them one at a time to decompile them. Then recompile them to FSX format, and copy the new files into ..\scenery\world\scenery. Your good to go!

If there are any fs9 traffic bgl's in that directory, the new ones won't show.

So that has been "corrected" as well then?

In FS9 I have all my own traffic files in a separate MyTraffic folder under the Add-on, and just activated as usual. That works a threat.

TBH Dan, I've never tried that, but yes, it would probably work. But again they would need to all be of the same type, i.e. all FSX format.

Hi Folks

Just for clarity.

FSX will process any traffic containing bgl
from any scenery folder, at any location in the active scenery list.

The bgl does not need to be in the ..\scenery\world\scenery folder.

Recommend not mixing FSX & FS9 traffic bgls,
as it prevents the FSX traffic bgls being run.

I have now tried the AIFPC and yes, it is quite neat, not sure of which one "FP_FS9_FSX" or "AIFPC" that is the one to be further developed. but anyway.

I'm now in for quite some converting as I will use the opportunity to clear out in the airport files for each flightplan. I have done a couple and hereby reduced the final bgl to only 1/10 of the original size by having only the necessary airports in the airports file.... in the end it might reduce the load on the CPU while loading the traffic files .. :dunno: I'll have to wait and see.
