Ok, hope this is clear!!
Make sure both switch banks are all on. (UP!)
Open fuel (bottom left). Switch must be pointing straight UP.
Switch on Ignition (left of magneto switch)
With both magnetos on, Click and hold switch to the right of magnetos(starter switch) TO THE LEFT, until sound stabilizes.
Then quickly click and hold starter switch TO THE RIGHT, until engine fires up. Throttle should be
one third open.
Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the help so far. I feel I'm making progress but can't quite get the thing to fire up!
I get to flicking the starter switch to the right and then I just get a whining down noise as everything stops again.
The only other clue I have is that the dial at about 4 o'clock from the starter switch clicks up from 4 to 12 when I set the starter switch to the left and then winds back from 12 to about 8 during the time I have the starter switch over to the left and I'm waiting for the sound to stabilise. When I switch the starter to the right it falls back again.

Hi John.
Maybe my picture is misleading.
The fuel switch is shown pointing down. It should be pointing UP.
Similarly, the ignition switch (left of the magnetos) is off. It should be UP (all Russian switches are switched on by switching them UP).
I will see if I can set up a short video for the starting sequence.

Thanks - that solved it!
It was the fuel switch that was the problem! All working now.
Flies a treat. Thanks again.

Glad it worked.
Here's the short video. Excuse the quality, but I tried to keep the file small.
Wonderful sound and a reminder to set your parking brake
before you start her up.

I tend to use the Piglet Antonovs, but the Xomer one looks like a good alternative. John, do you know is there is a paintkit available for it anywhere?

Thanks John. I don't go across to Sur Claro that often, I really should do so more often.
