Trident autoland at Bedford

Post by TobyV »

Well I admit I hadnt actually tried this before :worried: So I read Peter's tutorial and I needed a couple of attempts. This is mainly because I wasnt actually using his saved flight (I was flying at Thurleigh and not at Heathrow for one), and secondly because I dont actually do that much [serious] flying

Anyways, I thought it might be quite fun to try and record said landing and dub the commentary of Jimmy Philips to it... its not perfect as I only have the free version of fraps so I had to keep restarting to recording every time it cut out (~every 30secs), hence its all been stitched back together and theres the occasional obvious fade and FPS counter visible.

Its quite a laugh though and it shows the DM's autoland "does exactly what it says on the tin"

Thanks guys, I will shortly put the Bedford AFCAD up in the member's new releases section. Its technically still WIP, there are no buildings and some of the lighting and radio/ILS stuff may need some fine tuning, but its mostly there and as can be seen, its auto-landable.

That's brilliant, Toby. Love the commentary!

I've also completed Peter's autoland tutorials and made a screenshot which made me giggle but because it's so stupid I never posted. Perhaps now is the time because hopefully you won't mind if I hide it in the shadow of your thread

This is the tower view of my first Cat IIIb autoland at LHR! The red light could be either a navigation light or a traffic light on the A4. I don't know, but I don't think I hit anything! Thanks, Peter for these great tutorials and for Toby for bringing it to life. More please
