What a pleasant surprise. Their upcoming Globe Swift looks quite nice, too.

Seems to be missing the asymmetric tail plane?

Good catch. I didn't notice that, but judging from the shots it appears you're correct.

I wonder if AH is trying to spare themselves from an endless deluge of emails from people telling them that one tailplane is modeled larger than the other. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em??

Does this mean that AH have moved away from Just Flight?? Flight Replicas were considering the Dove but this depended on the success of the Heron.. I think *-) Not sure how successful it was beyond 2 of us here had bought it. Do you think 2 might not be enough :dunno:

EDIT: Bazzar made an announcement over at SoH which confirms they are moving away from JF a little and re-launching AH :cpu:

The VCs on those models look fantastic. And it had an asymmetric tail ? Blimey, you learn something new every visit here.

I've just sent them an email through their site contact facility pointing out the two flaws - the tailplane and the MK8 exhaust on the early versions instead of the standard pipe. Other than that the model looks good. Will only buy it if the exhaust issue is fixed. The tailplane I can live with although I would rather it was correct!

TBH Peter.. I think the lopped off LH horizontal stab is at least as distinctive as the difference in exhausts. I'd need both sorted before parting with any dosh ;) Our freeware FS9 model is correct. Can't see any reason to pay for an incorrect version :cpu:

The tail plane is far more noticeable than the exhaust

No way can they put out such an error and be thought of as a respectable developer. This is pay ware and shows a lack of basic research

I expect it's been asked here before, but what was the reason for the asymmetric tail plane on the aircraft? *-) EricT

The asymmetrical elevator was fitted to reduce(eliminate) buffeting :) Other than fitting a larger fin on production models to improve single engine handling (plus subsequent remodelling to it's distinctive shape).. these were the only major changes to the airframe over it's life :cpu:
