Cheers Dave - in that case, I might look into their 737. They also have an F-4E in the works too, but the 737 is of more interest at the moment.

Re: Captain Sim Sale
The F4 is available now as a sort of 'open beta' with a guarantee of a full model at the end. You have to pay up front though
Sadly.. it's the wrong sort of Phantom to interest me I'm afraid
Questions have been asked enquiring about 'Spey' engined versions and while they've not said no.. there's been no yes either.

Well, I'm certainly not going to pay good money to become a beta tester...( he said, having forked out for a Captain Sim collection
).
I probably won't buy the F-4E anyway, even when its finished. B737 is calling though, as is, oddly, the Aerosoft A318/319 package. Great review of that in the latest PC Pilot mag. Its Christmas !!

Don't fall into the B-52 trap. It is without doubt one of the most shite FD's I've ever had the displeasure of flying. It looks great though

The 732 always tempts me but to be honest.. I wouldn't download it even if it were free. It would be completely wasted on my HD.
Skysong Soundworks used to have a soundset for the Herc. It's since been renamed as for the Orion with a note of suitable aircraft including the Herc (and Herc 100). Clutching at straws.. it also says it is suitable for the Vanguard

I've got some software (presents to myself) that I've not even installed yet. Well.. it IS Christmas

Disappointed with both the 737 and 707 in so much as neither have 2d panels I should have checked a few reviews first but that's what you get by jumping in Initially prefer the 707, its very functional and fly's quite good. Once everything's running and you are good to go I suppose you don't need the panels but I hate flying surrounded by blank monitors

Re: Captain Sim Sale
Ah.. no 2D. I have the 'Legendary 707'.. the FS9 version and that came with a stonking 2D. I actually removed the VC using a hex editor as it was a monster and hit FR's hard. The major problem (for me) with it was it's custom AP coding which meant it wouldn't work with FSNavigator. You were not able to fly on AP with all 3 channels and this meant attended flight. Not such a problem if you have the time to watch it all the time or use accellerated time but I didn't have the time and have never used accellerated time for VA flights. Needless to say.. it got flown no more than a handful of times. I paid a darned sight more than 9.99Eur for it too
Sorry you're a bit disappointed but if it's only because of not being able to populate your other monitors.. it could be worse. It could fly and handle like the Buff and that WOULD be disappointing

Re: Captain Sim Sale
If I can graft the simufly ins into the 707 I may give it a shot in the va. For long haul It has a Doppler nav and a non working civa system the development of which stalled when they had problems getting it to work in the vc.The Doppler looks like its just an overlay from the stock gps which I'm not keen on trying out. On another note I am struggling to get the simufly civa to work in just flights upgraded tristrar. It worked fine in the old version But when you swich the ins to nav, it fights with the aircrafts heading hold Been flying the aircraft so far on the FMC which is quite good and not attached to the stock fsx guidance The model comes in 2 Versions FMC and ins. Not tried the ins yet, maybe I should
