The BBC is reporting the death of Roger Lloyd Pack, probably best known for his role as Trigger in Only Fools And Horses.
He was 69.
Goodbye Roger and many thanks for all the laughs. You'll be sadly missed. EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!
Really sad news. The guy was a ferociously talented actor, just as much at home in Shakespeare as in Del Boy's Peckham. Whenever he was on the screen on Only Fools .... you didn't look at anybody but him, because you knew whatever was coming was going to be good; and managing to turn the (frankly quite seedy) Owen Nevitt into a sympathetic character would have been beyond most actors. A unique talent, and totally irreplaceable.
I must admit I didn't recognize the name but when I googled it and saw his face the tears came. This is very sad news. The man was a huge talent. Now to break the news to Mrs. FlyTexas.
Sorry to hear this as I always enjoyed his portrayal Owen on the Vicar o Dibley. Ironically, he was also in one episode of Doc Martin, which aired last night here on WETA-UK, our all Brit PBS station.
Yes, that is sad. It will be strange to see him on screen, knowing that it's all over for him.
They always put up warnings on Australian TV if they are to play recordings of Aboriginals who have died.
Refreshing to read your title, Eric, I've had it up to here with "passed" and other euphemisms used by reporters. In correct context, they're fine, like Tom Waits' line: "Got a wooden coat, he ain't never comin' home.
