Getting a new PC
I am getting a new PC soon. I am thinking of a SSD thingy but my computer lady has said a Raptor is faster and cheaper but not as stable. Also as I will still be using FS9 as well as FSX Windows 7 or 8.

Re: Getting a new PC
Your computer lady has some catching up to do. HD's cannot compete with SSD's in speed. I would suggest a SSD for the OS and a large HD for you programs. You will find Windows will boot up in the blink of an eye under an SSD. Depends of course on budget. I run e.g. a 128Gb Crucial M4 SSD with W7 64 almost exclusively on it. Of course that is now getting long in the tooth.

Thanks for the reply and the videos. My gut feeling was for SSD especially as she said it was more stable.

Re: Getting a new PC
I have raptors, deffinatly not as fast as SSD but ive not had any issues with them for the past 4 years... Im not sure an SSD could last as long however the costs are the one that denote what you purchase, HDD for larger space, SSD for speed...
