Cheers George. Its Wisley, 51°18'23.43"N, 0°27'35.54"W

I'll send you what I have so far by email. Toby Vickers kindly sent me over his API files and textures for the buildings for his FS9 rendition. It won't be long before this one and Radlett are long gone so making as much use of GE and VE as I can to try and work out where the bits went.

Cheers George, I'll check it out this evening

Is it a strait forward task to change the runway textures used in ADE do you know? Most of the UK runways have the numbers in the middle of the threshold markings, rather than I front of them (which seems to be the FSX default)

I wouldn't say most, but some do. I changed it to the correct form in the AFD file I sent you.

In ADE, select the runway, hit <Return> select the "Markings" tab.

Random question for the troops. Anyone recommend a decent tree library (freeware and with contact info for the author) I need to put some trees around Wisley and I don't fancy doing it tree by tree  I'm sure I've used a utility in the past that allowed you to draw an area and populate it with trees of a certain time, but can't for the life of me remember what it was.

Another random thought, I'd love to use the proper ICAO code for Wisley (and that was EGTW). That is allocated to a small grass strip in FSX. Is there a good way to change these around without making a mess of FSX? This will hopefully be distributed to the members here, so I wouldn't want to be buggering up everyone's FSX install :worried:

If you are using photo-textures, use Annotator.

The only way is to decompile APX47130.bgl, remove EGTW and recompile (if you can ;) )

Thanks George,

I'm using photo textures in the form of GenX, but other might not be, so I was trying to keep the options open so as folk could use it with or without GenX. Rgr on the decompile / recompile, that might bugger things up for others, so although I'll do that for myself, I'll stick with X2WY for others. ;)

Bed now, need to be in Chesterfield for 9:00 :wall:

Some images of what I'm working on at the moment for FSX. Many thanks to Toby Vickers and George. Any idea where I would get decent freeware VASI lights? I've ordered the Wisley book from amazon, but its clear from footage on YouTube and the 1972 OS map that there were VASI and some sort of approach lighting, so I'm guessing there would have been some form of runway lighting, although there is no evidence of its existence now. As there are no marks on the runways or taxiways for lighting, I'm guessing it was some sort of edge lighting in the grass.
