Radio Control VC10

Post by VC10 »

There is a group building a 16Ft long radio controlled VC10. This is a picture of it at the Large Model Association show at Bradford. It is now getting towards the final stages of the build, all controls have been functioned including gear and flaps (no slats). Engines have been run. It needs to do 2 hrs of flying before it can be flown at shows.

Someone should contact the modeller behind the creation on the left of the picture and see if he can knock up a few more of those for less than a few billion quid and perhaps install a MAD probe :hide:

Now that's what I call a model! I have many scales of VC10 in many formats from kits to die=cast, but this is just awesome!

Kind regards

Very nice! Hopefully they'll put a teeny-tiny 'Tonks' (in civilian uniform) in the pilot's seat when it's finished. ;)

For non-lottery winners there is a smaller scale VC10 that will hopefully be in kit form later this year. It was on display at last years RC national champs, and looked quite good.

IIRC it was about 60" span, with 4 electric ducted fan units. :)

They both look lovely models. It would be nice to hear that VC10 if it gets the 4 x mini jets that it deserves! The comet that we've all seen before is phenominal. Its only a shame that the VC10 is going to be "grey" :)

It just won't sound right though! Needs to go electric and fit a sound system! :)

I like it! Looks to me like it could be painted up as an EAA Super, or are they going with RAF colours?

There's also a smaller RC one which has been flying for a while: http://www.vc10.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=466

Correction, I've just found the video of flight no.2 and they had some problems: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T2S9LCufRE
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.
