It was a leg pull Paul.. I took no offense ;)

I was taking a point Fraser made about the cost of tooling/re-tooling e t c. Much of the Halifax/Halton is new.. a lot is standard Halifax yet the cost of the Halifax/Halton model equals that of the other Halifax manifestations (B MkIII and GRII). Corgi themselves are currently selling the Halifax/Halton at a £30+ discount.. not that this will help anyone as it's not in stock! Copies can be picked up at a number of model shops (inc Ebay) from around £79 up. ;)

BTW Fraser.. I'm not having a go either mate. Your post made a lot of sense and was a valuable insight into what goes on in the industry ;) It still leaves many of us feeling a bit seen off and I guess from your position, more than a little frustrated 8)

Basically, the fuse halves are completely new mouldings as are the nose and tail. Fins and tailplane come straight off the later Halifax bomber so are correct. The wings are straight off the bomber but moulded in red!

There was more than a little uproar when this much awaited model hit the shops. Look at the box, 98+% correct model.. open the box.. a Mk8 with BMkIII wings 8) Still.. I bought it knowing the faux pas.. a level of how much I wanted this model :wall:

Dave,

Sorry for the slow response on this one, and no offense taken on any of your comments, I was merely talking in general about the industry and the few Corgi items that I do have, if however you say they have re-tooled parts on the fuselage then that is a shame that it was not correct.

Either way I like their stuff and try and avoid spending too much on it, many an hour spent in the Toy District in Kowloon deciding over which one to go for!

I think my worst nightmare is that my dream comes true and I do actually get to work on this stuff, and then suffer the sacrifices I have to make! lol.

Cheers,

Fraser.
