I wouldn't have noticed if I was onboard, being a frequent Ryanair user...

It was amazingly smooth. What is rather surprising however, is that if the sock is to be believed, there was a downwind component to it. I am not familiar with Warsaw, and it may be that the approach is clearer in the direction used

We've had several days recently where the runway keeps changing direction but since the wind speeds were quite low they have been often landed downwind because the approach was already being made before the change.

No point really in abandoning and going for the opposite runway as it might change again

Perhaps something similar happened here.? :dunno:

It does seem that what ever the wind it was smooth.. *-)

Looking at the layout of the airport on Google Maps, you seem to fly over slightly less built up area if you approach from the south / south east to land on either runway 29 or runway 33. There's not a lot in it though. Does anyone know which runway was used? *-)

What I don't understand is why they didn't free-fall the gear. There is an electric motor on each gear uplock and the door locks, break the locks and hey presto! - Landing gear
