Fourteen on order

I wonder if this is just so they have something to cancel in a few months time

Well they've already cut it from the original planned order of 22 so at the current rate of progress I'm guessing only 2 will actually get delivered!

RAF procurement and Chinooks have had it's issues in the past.

The Merlins were due to be 'demoted' to the Navy at some point in the future, as they are apparently not ideally suited for RAF operations, so any Chinnook order is only going to cover their loss.

On a slightly more upbeat note.. I've not noticed as much activity to and from Benson in yonks as I've seen today. Chinooks.. Merlins.. 2 x Apaches and even Pumas
Perhaps what I've seen is the combined helicopter fleet but even so..
