When I upgraded to FSX Accell Dave, I didn't have to delete SP2. It worked straight out of the box.
I've seen an ex-Swiss AF Hunter at Grand Canyon airport. I guess that was just a static display.

Hello Mate..
Well.. there's an exception to every rule and it seems you're probably it
To be honest.. having been warned about the dangers of NOT removing SP2 prior to loading ACC, I'd have not attempted it but there you go. Some folk just don't give a damn

I suppose if the SP2 install was fresh and unmolested then the Acceleration update wouldn't have any problems detecting the files already there and ignoring them or overwriting them without leaving drips of code here and there.

Hi Darren
I guess so but how unmolested is unmolested. I know of numerous accounts where SP2 has been installed followed soon after by ACC and the ACC install has aborted. At best.. that's all that happened. At worst, it required a fresh install of FSX
If you're a gambling man, I guess you could give it a go (like Dennis did) but gambling is one vice I've never had
