Thanks for the answer Dave. I guess that fuel burn depends also on cruising altitude. What was the usual cruising height of 1-11s? Somewhere between FL200 and FL300? I presume that a short haul flight does not go higher than this.

Yes mate.. between those two heights depending on distance
Horses for courses with a little pint-size jet like the One-Eleven. With a cruise speed of around M.76, choose the altitude which will give you the desired groundspeed at M.76 and away you go. I usually cruise at FL250 in the One-Eleven (though higher is possible)

That is an excellent FS model of an excellent plane, which beats many payware add-ons.

Hello Dave,
I have just completed my first successful landing with 1-11.
What cabin altitude do you usually set for FL250 cruising altitude? I have just discovered that if I load a saved flight the thrust index goes up to 210, while before saving it was around 150. Does this mean any problem? Do I have to set it back to 150?

No, there's not a problem. This will reset each time you load the aircraft independent of a saved flight. You can adjust the numbers yourself by clicking in the bottom half of the gauge or more simply, click in the upper part of the gauge. This will set the index to the current sim parameters

Rule of thumb for 1-11 flight planning was distance = flight level. So a 200 mile flight at about FL200, 260 mile flight around FL260 and so on, up to max level of FL350 (although some 400s were capable of FL370)asolyom wrote:Thanks for the answer Dave. Many thanks to everybody for all comments.
I am getting used to One-Eleven better and better. However during approach I have to be very careful with flaps, and since no auto-thurst is available an extreeme care is needed with throttle levers.

Very true, but getting back to basics is good. I enjoy modern types and learning all the functions of the AFCS and programming the FMC but going back to raw data and basic autopilot is very satisfying too.
