Hi John M

There is a ported to FSX installer in the downloads section for FSX

shouldn't be a transparency issue with that version.

only the original should suffer that problem

Hi Rick,

I'm pretty sure I used the FSX installer. *-)

I'll post a sceenie of the transparent coaming this evening, can't at the moment as I'm off to work now. I can't say it really bothers me as I usually use the 2D panel and still use FS9 more frequently than FSX.

Here's a couple of shots Rick.

No lights turned on.

This happens to the VC when any lights are turned on. The textures for both the pilot's and co pilot's coaming (binnacle?) disappear and a couple of textures to the right and left of the pedestal as well. It happens both by day and night. I didn't try all the different models.

I'm sure that I did use the FSX installer as I've got all the thumbnails of the aircraft and the starting problem that happens with the FS9 model in FSX isn't present.

I'm running this on a Core2 Quad Q6600 with 4Gb Ram and an Nvidia 9800 GTX+.
The system is Vista 32bit.

Hope this helps but if you need any more info I won't be around till tomorrow evening.

The scenery is FTX by ORBX. It's very, very good. Their site is at http://fullterrain.com
The Melbourne airport scenery is so realistic it's breathtaking. Trouble is even with a very grunty system framerates suffer badly and I sometimes need to switch features off to get fly-able framerates. Other airports are not so resource intensive and default setting are fine.

Thanks for the tips. I'd forgotten about the water methanol thing. I played with the Nav1/Nav2 CDI switch but still couldn't get it to lock onto a GPS track. Perhaps it's because I didn't used the FSX installer. After about six attempts the file wouldn't download completely, so I finished up installing the other FSX file that would download (HS748compatible.zip). That was many weeks ago. I'll try again and see what happens.
