food for thought:
who is the "No Trespassing" sign for? Trespassers, everybody else minds their buisness , and their manors.
to act toward others as they want Or demand others act toward them
these people If by chance need access to some property they go about by asking permission.

My personal opinion:(getting back to where the thread started) I'd rather they be responsible and put the drink down
Think that continuing to drink they might loose their ability to reason. ( In what ever fashion,assult, drive and crash into someone,cheat on their wives, , )
but the reality is some would say to this ""bullcrap I'll do what I want..""

and so the castle law exist..
and for the angry cuss who use the law to bully.... they will find themselves in jail, and we've had a few of those as well.

If they will not face charges then they should not have been arrested. It is this sort of unwarranted action which makes it so difficult to obtain convictions against those who really should be banged up . Visit Liverpool crown Court any day to see this proposition justified

It isn't.

Its not just arresting people for no reason and wasting their time and the justice systems time.

It depends on the evidence. Many circumstances have enough to effect an arrest but unfortunatley when it comes to the charging process the CPS may advise no further action. This can be for a variety of reasons. Often because there are'nt enough witness accounts etc.

Each matter is a seperate case and treated as such. Nothing done here would have any effect on 'those that should really be banged up'

As for Liverpool Crown Court. I have been there many times. Its no different to any other court.

I chose Liverpool because for some reason the conviction rates there are amongst the lowest in England and Wales and in my experience perverse acquittals are by no means uncommon there. What I find strange about your suggestion that many of those arrested would not be charged is that the news report suggested that many of the arrests were for Bail Act offences. Now if those offences are too trivial to charge, why mount an operation of this sort, and why bother arresting them?Anyway, for reasons both of your occupation and of mine, here is probably not the place to debate the matter further

I did'nt for one minute suggest that many of those arrested would'nt be charged. I simply addressed your initial remarks which I did'nt agree with, hence the reason I added the quote box with them in.

The arrests have actually gone up to 672 according to the local news.

Well worth the 'bother' in my opinion.

Ohhh Errr.....If more offenders got "banged up" it would certainly put less of a strain on my Service....And stop me getting beaten up...(4 times in 1 year)...Any drink offence IMHO should be dealt with harsher than is dealt out now....Long story...but i got £12.50 for being assaulted trying to help someone...Don't get me started or i will cry.... :roll:
