and as Wat Tyler said to young King Richard, "The pedants are revolting." Bet you didn't know he had a lisp.

Well these may not be very useful but they are the only shots I have of the Lightning Mk2 Simulator:-

Thanks, Peter - you very kindly gave me permission download and use some of these shots a couple of months ago. The one of the pilot climbing aboard appears, with various others, on a board at the entrance to the simulator room to let the public know what's going on.

as you can see thier is a wide gulf between a procedures trainer and a "Simulator"

some know the difference, obviously other's dont.

some poor chaps bought the nimrod show and tell device thinking they were getting a simulator
some lucky chaps bought what they thought was a procedures trainer but in fact got a full blown simulator of a classic airliner used to teach procedures...(CRM), and since it was an old analog sim they have a fair chance of keeping it running.

it they kept more than just the cockpit section...otherwise they just have a cockpit and not a simulator

if you are interested i have come across what looks to be a completely intact one of these lightning procedure trainers (for the lightning F3),

took some pictures, at first glance it looks like the front section of yours is missing, this is the bit that has the "gubbins" in that would make the original various working bits...well work...
