While I can understand how the contstant whine from some quarters can lead anyone round the twist, this seems a bit knee jerk
Ben.

Re: UKMil no more?
Oh dear.
I was chatting earlier with Pete Forster(NorthernKnight),I've been beta testing a pet project of his for him,and he thanked me for the work I'm doing for him.
I mentioned that it was no problem at all and that I'll continue to test as much as is required because it needs to be as correct as possible for the simple reasons that there are too many know-alls and armchair experts who will jump in and moan their balls off about the slightest thing, but haven't a clue about how to start to do better.
So I see completely where UkMil are coming from on this one.

Re: UKMil no more?
I think the trick is to do your beta testing in private and limit what you let folks see. I know when the chaps here are doing work they get all the critisism from us lot doing their beta testing in private, even when it gets them down (which I'm sure it would anyone) they know, because we are all mates that its not giving a dig, just tryingto be helpful. Appreciate there are some cocks out there though.
Ben.

Re: UKMil no more?
Thats a shame. There are so many people who do appreciate the time and effort that freeware developers put into creating something that enhances the simming experience. Lets hope the site does return and continue to develop for the benefit of the many who do value the work. I'm not talented enough to do this stuff, so I'm never going to be in that position. I do however have a whole vocabulary of entertaining adjectives and descriptions that can be used whilst deleting the negative e-mails from the socially-challenged rivet counters. Happy to share if that helps ?

I am as sick a parrott
The sceneries that have come from the UKMIL site in recent times are on a par if not better than some payware stuff. Waddington, Barkston Heath, Cranwell, plus a whole fleet of assorted aircraft.
It is a real shame.
Have not checked to see if these links from here work but we can but hope http://ukmil.org.uk/DLE2/

Re: UKMil no more?
A great shame indeed and have to agree with Bob, the sceneries they produced as previously listed were very, very good.
Those who complain to the point where a free-ware organisation shuts down due to the amount of criticism ruin it not only for those who enjoy the products but also to those who develope them.
A big shame they have decided to take this decision. :-(
Regards
Nigel.

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
