Dave, I think the sonar was mapped to visor, an old code from when FS shipped with Concorde in FS2002, even though FS9 didnnt have Concorde the code remained deep in the sim and was still functionable, though not listed in the SDKs either I believe ?. When FSx arrivedthen that code was gone, as was tailhook and wing fold, these two were added back as default codes when Accell arrived, maybe with SP2 as well ?, so FSx models made with those commands wont work in SP1 either I believe, way to go MS . So sorry, theres a high chance the sonar no longer works in FSx as I think the model is a port over anyway.DaveB wrote:Hi Michael![]()
I can only remember one thing at a time so I'm still on the Leander![]()
I've dialled those settings into the RN Merlin and love it to bitsSlightly less twitchy but still with plenty of poke to get you out of trouble. Don't have time to chase the Ark down to Devonport now (an FSX Shack with working surface radar would come in handy.. even though the Merlin is probably faster)
Great stuff mate and thanks a zillion.
When I put Acceleration on this morning.. I let it remap the keyboard (to take advantage of all the new things I know nothing of) and as such.. can't get the sonar to dip (or do anything for that matter). I know it worked in FS9 but have only just started playing in FSX (thanks to Ben and his AI Ships!!!) and can't remember if it ever worked in FSX![]()
BTW Michael.. I have some shots (a few) I took of the Yeovilton Wasp if they'd be any good to you ;-)

Glad you like your new settings, the realism scalar is much more subtile than the sim meduim or hard sliders, just a change of 0.05 or 0.1 can make it feel worse or better, there are other figures you can play with in the FDE but all things being equal, this one allows the end user to pitch the scales to where he feels comforatable and with relative ease.
Leander, yes I recall that as well

Wasp, I may well take you up on that offer in the not too distant future, I have some private tasks that are going to eat up nearly all my spare time in a short while but once past I'll be in touch

Best
Michael
