Would love to be there Dave, especially to witness Echo Papa in action, but alas, the distance and travelling is a little too much unfortunately. Although I will at some point visit as its on my list of places to see before I require a stannah stairlift. :worried:

Excuse my ignorance but is the Vanguard taxiable also?

Yup.. that's the long and short of it. The airfield is no more so where we used to taxi is now part of Mercedes World :-( We're actually parked up in what used to be a car park.

I've just downloaded the latest version of Google Earth and the sat image of Brooklands is so out of date.. I think it might have gone backwards!! :o If you have it.. search at 51 21'21.14N 0 27'55.36W and you'll find a car park with a Varsity and Hunter below it. The VC10 and Vanguard are shown on the old airfield to the left. That car park is where we all live (the Hunter moved to just in front of the Wellington Hangar) :)

God.. I hope it doesn't

Forecast for tomorrow is good so I'll be jetting down on the ZX9R. I laminated some new checklists up so we're gonna run through them ;-)

Still no sign of any additional fuel but she was oiled up on Sat and the engines were bled so to all intents.. she's ready to go

I hope it will be a good day on the 7th, perhaps with a bit more fuel for 'EP. Enjoy! And don't forget to post photos for those of us unable to attend....

Hi DB

I will be there on Saturday mate ;-)
Might come on Bike but not sure yet as Camera is a burger to carry on the bike so probably bash the Nissan into use
again for the first time since Duxford.

SWMBO let me out to play as long as i do all my chores first :dunno:

Rick

Yeh.. I know the feeling

I 'was' scheduled to be onboard for the runs so no shots from me (though I'm not sure what the hell is happening now) :worried: I've been instructed to make sure all the CB's are set but the rest has become less clear.

A word of caution for movie buffs.. the fire engine tends to make more than it's fair share of noise so it might be an idea for those with digicams to get as far away from the red beast as possible.. not easy I know due to the confines of the aircraft park.

Noting that this is a 'Brooklands' event.. I'll do what I can within operational constraints to get all CBFS bods onboard out of running times but there may be 'VIPs' attempting to hog the action. As is always the case.. we seem to be at the lower end of the food chain for the most part but find ourselves elevated to 'star' status when those on high see fit ;-)
