UK television heads up

Post by ianhind »

Sunday Times preview text about "Earth - the Power of the Planet" at 9pm BBC2 Tuesday 27 November:

"the film opens with a Clarkson-like supersonic ascent in a South African jet......."

It may be nothing but heads up anyway and since it as the start you don't have to watch all of it!

On a slightly slower pace - I think it as yet still to air....Antiques Roadshow last year filmed at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, home to Lancaster NX611 'Just Jane'. How much of 'Jane' will appear is anyones guess but I shall try to catch the above mentioned programme with the 'Lighntning'.

Ta for the HU.

I have a feeling that one has already been on Bob. One of the chaps at Brooklands mentioned seeing the ARS and he saw a Lanc in-shot so I told him it would more than likely be Just Jane ;-) Pity you seem to have missed it mate :-(

Well, some of the science was a bit dubious (okay, very dubious) but it was worth it just for the Lightning footage.

I don't actually own a TV at home, but was in Dublin and the hotel room had one. Turned it on by chance, and thoroughly enjoyed the Lightning shots. Seen from a distance in the stratosphere, with that huge vapour trail behind it, was jaw dropping.

Still not going to buy a TV though. ;-)
