FS Add Ons Hudson / Electra package
Okay, before anyone screams out ' We have an emergency - is there a repainter in the house ? ' I will admit the paint schemes are a tad Humbrol-esque to say the least. However you get an excellent paint kit, which includes a layer that labels the part of the model the texture is mapped to. What a brilliant idea!
VC is workman-like, sound effects are excellent ( though the engines are a little muted inside the VC ) and the flight model seems spot on. It has some very nice touches such as sun blinds that you can slide across above your head ( as in Plane Design's Lancastrian ) and a bank of switches that can make each individual crew member visible or invisible from outside.
Best of all, you get eleven different models, so all in all an excellent package of a somewhat 'un-sexy' vintage twin prop - just the sort of aircraft I love in P3D.
Windows, doors, bomb bay doors and ventral gun position open...
Thats a semi-recessed lifeboat slung underneath, by the way. This is one of those ASR jobs
That lurid blue needs to be toned down a bit...
Yes..I know . As I say, thankfully it has a paint kit .

A picture of the VC. In the civil aircraft, the Lodestar and Super Electra, the co-pilot's seat and yoke is modeled. As with Dave G's Rapide, the yokes can be 'disappeared' if desired, and I wish more aircraft came with that option.

Thanks Paul
Are there any other Brit paints beside the military? Thinking particularly of the Loadstar which should have been 'faithfully' represented in BOAC?

Re: FS Add Ons Hudson / Electra package
No, Dave - the only civilian paint in the package is that SAA one for the Super Electra. The Lodestar has one military paint. However as you can see below, the paint kit is rather good, with the key layer indicating what bits go where on the model. I've never seen that before in a paint kit. Both Photoshop and PSP files are included. Hopefully some repaints will come along, and I might try another one myself for my Air Hauler outfit.

Hmmm ..just like my Superfreighter and Brit/Canadair PK...they are all labelled on a seperate layer
Just in case you think I knicked the idea

I must say I'm impressed with those lines of rivets - I think the Hudson could benefit from that. I'm thinking of using this aircraft and its paint kit as a basis for learning how to do bare metal textures, so any pointers in that regard will be welcome.
