Re: Harrier fly-by
With experience of working with SHARs I'd say it was a fake as theres no reaction to jet blast as it goes over him.

Re: Carriers.....
I have just reread this post & wonder if someone can do HERMES off the Falklands (roughly100 east of Stanley) I think it was roughly where we sailed up & down the Yellow Brick Road. I wish I was as fit now as I was then. I'm the one with the glasses & US flight deck helmet, the RN starte...

Can you do this?
I'm wanting to put a few helo spots on the scotflight version of prestwick airport & rename it, so it becomes HMS Gannet.
Is it possible to do that, as well as create an AFCAD so its a totally independant place?
What would i need to do?

Re: Yeovil Airday = poor & Vulcan
Maybe the fact it was my first VL airday since the 80s, made me feel disappointed about things in general. I did enjoy the Hangar displays. Maybe it was just me regarding the cloud base, all I heard was it was "yellow 1" but just as at Portland you know when flying is going to be dodgy. BT...

Re: Yeovil Airday = poor & Vulcan
Just out of curiousity are the RAF Airdays run by private firms or Crabair itself?

Re: RAF Thorney Island and HMS ?
Are some of you guys getting mixed up with CHAG(Chain Arrestor Gear) & Arrestor wires? As i recall CHAG was just a big lump of Chain that was rigged in case of brake failure at Yeovil & elsewhere.

Airtrooper - No one has a happy time at HMS SEAHAWK, I only ever went there for courses.
Grudingly I will admit I enjoyed the dummy deck getting blown over by Sea Vixens!
