Seem to have no source for the actual colouring of VN813 at Farnborough, but the blue scheme would most likely have been applied just for the show. I would guess at a blue not far removed from the Petter blue of prototype.

One thing though, VN813 spent most of its life on Nene development ...

I've been in touch with Paul Foster and he is finalising the models before release, I'm sure this will entail removing the starboard side window on the T.4 model (for those that spotted it...Les are you around? :wink:).

Yes Steve. I think I mentioned that errant window before, only TT.18s had it ...

Nice one Steve, as usual. OK, it's not a PR.3 airframe but you have to work with what you've got I guess.

The Survivors pages index on my web site shows that XH568 was broken up at Bruntingthorpe during March 2006. The cockpit section plus some other 'bits' were bought by an American outfit - Air Platforms Inc - as 'spares' for their two revenue-earning Canberras, WT327 and XH567.

Discolouration due to spray-lubricants, etc. Also water seeping out of panel edges after a wash (or landing just after flying through rain or clouds). The grey paint is surprisingly matt and rough feeling to the touch, not a very smooth surface at all, soaks up such aerosol liquids like ...

The 39 Sqn's PR.9s wear/wore AD grey for Afghan duty and Hemp for duty in the sand-box. Swapping the schemes became regular practice in the 9's last few months of service because there was only three of them to cover the missions - two out, one at base.

Here you are, WT368 at Kuantan in 1964. Note 'lo-silver' undersides*, white serials and sqn code and black gunpack (gunpacks never got re-painted to silver).

Also remember they had a 14 Sqn crest and bars on the nose.
