Re: Saitek New

I was very excited about the X52 Pro and got one for my birthday (aww - still asking for toys at the age of 40!) I liked the feel of the product but setting it up was a nightmare! Not like my CH Control Yoke where I jsut ticked one box and it picked up all the defaults without any further ...

Re: New Comet is out

Just one word - Beautiful! Thanks DM. The attention to detail is brilliant - love the SFS which is taking some getting used to, as well as some of the other quirky dials - e.g. the engine synchroniser. Have managed several ILS-linked landings - just keep forgetting to unlock the reversers! Oh ...

Re: DM's comet

They are indeed. My fave is DMs Trident, the accuracy of the autopilot panel and indicators, along with the stunning reproduction of the rather complicated HSI indicator is fantastic - - just so much like the real thing! And the autoflare and autoland features are also faithfully depicted - great ...

As a fellow 'lurker', I too was very excited to see David's updated page. The DH106 VC looks fantastic, and I hope that he sees it through to the end.

Going back to the original thread  BEA liked to have rearward facing seats as an option for its 'Silver Wing' service - Elizabethans had them mid-cabin, Viscounts had them too, as well as the Comets. Pics I have seen show a permanent table like on a train. BOAC Comet 1s also had a coupe area ...

lol - back to the thread....

I would like to add my belated thanks to DM and Rick, as well as all the other who have developed panels, saved sound clips etc to allow me to 'fly' those aircraft that got me hooked on flying in the 1st place! The Tridents, VC10, Viscounts and Vanguards (as well as the ...

My Mum used to make sure we were wearing shirts with collars whenever we flew BOAC/BEA in the early-mid 70s! Going low-cost nowadays and seeing the cabin crew wearing polo shirts and fleeces as their uniform just doesn't seem right!

Without getting involved in the politics here, the Confederated Air Force keeps military aircraft flying, which are a lot less complicated than keeping civil aircraft, especially pressurized jets, flying (Ok, I know the powerplants ona B29 are complicated!) We've still got Dakotas, Tiger Moths, DH ...
