Re: Heir to the Throne (not a joke)

If I could give less of a dam I would... But it's physically impossible. Utterly underwhelmed. The best headline though was from Private Eye.... "Woman has Baby"

Brilliant :welldone:

Re: A Fitting use for Legos

Legos... LOL. That is very American and very un-Lego; certainly not what one of us AFOLs would call it  I have just had to pack most of mine up into storage for a while (long story) and I just about squeezed it into 8 x 64 litre boxes!!! I think I might have a problem LOL Tonks

Re: Another BA own goal

It was indeed a Super Garry, BOAC AC G-ASGK on 27 Nov 1969... But it was a turbine failure rather than a compressor and thus pretty much uncontainable... Even today on modern engines they have to contain a compressor failure but not a turbine; rather like the case of the Qantas A380 . The IL-62 was ...

Re: Another BA own goal

I doubt very much it would have "downed the aircraft"... trashed the engine yes, but the loss of the engine will not bring it down! Typical press hype; over blowing the danger! They don't make engines like they used to... I remember a VC10 flying home from Germany and only when they got ba...

Re: BAW A380 at Paris

Nigel, I understand what you say about the technology, but to be honest it is very much a different challenge. With a few thousand hours in old ac such as the Nimrod and the VC10 there was a certain joy from operating an old ac... with the more modern "glass" there is a completely differen...

Re: New VC10 Panel

10000 ft sounds like pressurisation to me...

The VC10 does indeed have TCAS and has had it for a while now; it is integrated into the VSI and is a useful tool! The problem with the French in particular Dave was 8.33 radios, which the 10 eventually got. Bless them... LOL

Re: A worthy petition!

Have to say I am with the CAA on this one, and I don't agree with them often; they stuck to their guns with the Lightning and were proven correct to do so. The Harrier is a far more complicated ac than the Hunter to both fly and maintain so that is not a good argument. As with many of the ac, I woul...
