OK, so the 8800 GTS is the best card to run FSX on. But does anyone run FSX successfully on any other (lower specced) cards?
And if there is an alternative, what RAM and processor to use with it?
I know this subject is done to death everywhere, but I cannot see the wood for the trees.

Re: Pupcam – Genius, absolute genius!!!
Sorry to be so dim, I am not up-to-date with remote control models. Is this done with a remote-control camera mounted in a flying-model aircraft? Is the image viewed on a screen on the ground in real-time? I guess it must be. Is it common practise now to have cameras in flying models, or is this the...

Re: Camel and Spitfire
This reminds me of the Biggles books where he learns to fly. This was during WWI and he is sent to France immediately. I understand WE Johns, the author, was a WWI pilot himself and possibly the Biggles of this era was almost autobiographical. This vid takes me back to reading these books. Biggles c...

I have using the downloaded demo of FSX for a week or so. (I have dropped enough hints what I'd like for Xmas!! - so I thought I could work out some settings in the meantime). I have come across a situation which is way too hard for me to think about, can anyone offer an idea? The default aircraft d...

Winter Service
A nice little piece on local TV news on Monday evening. Lancaster City of Lincoln flying into Coventry for it's winter maintenance. Some nice pictures and film, but then she is so photogenic. Makes me smile wryly that a story like that merits getting on the nightly news - and then the bean counters ...

A great chap. I enjoyed his work first of all when I wa little and he always seemed to be commentating on any motorsport when we got our first tv. Then he did the airshows and I learned he knew about aircraft! Almost anything I was interested in on tv he did the presenting - airshows, motor sport, T...

Most of the reasons above, really. No, the choice of aircraft is not a factor. I don't fancy having to meet any more deadlines, it looks complicated and I can make up lots of flights and scenarios for myself. Obviously, other folks get pleasure from it, but not for me. Of course, no offense meant at...

latitude & longitude
I have been trying out this little program - routeeditor.zip - which I downloaded this morning. It seems to work well. It lets me drop longitudes & latitudes into FS9 flightplan .pln files and use them as waypoints. Before, I could only use waypoints already on the FS9 map. The reason it...
