Re: Morayvia Museum in Scotland.
They certainly have lots of plans, but they appear to have the means and drive to see them come true too. In 2019 they were planning to mount the Vulcan nose against the new building at such a height that it would allow the entry door to be opened so that it too can be inspected on the inside. I'm a...

Re: Morayvia Museum in Scotland.
Can I just second Ben's recommendation? Morayvia has loads of great objects, engines and partial or whole airframes as well as some great volunteers with a lot of good stories. I love the fact that it is a hands-on place, you can get up close to a lot of stuff and even inside them. One of only a few...

Re: Dave Maltby site down?
I just checked and the links on my 'Fly a VC10' page still work. As I haven't changed those in ages, the original storage location on Simviation is unchanged. Some of the older stuff on that page is on my own server. That's just the VC10s of course... but at least all is not lost

Re: One pleasurable night in the Netherlands.
Back in May, expectations were that flights would be restarted by August.... guess that's not going to happen. I would suggest keeping an eye on this page: http://www.airnieuws.nl/index.html (Yes, the first page is in Dutch but click on 'Fokker' and you'll get the latest fleet news in English). Any ...

Re: Very Lucky Escape!!
I thought that from looking at the fire, it looked to be oil of some sort rather than fuel that was burning at that point? I'm no expert, but I'd not have expected fuel to burn like that in that area. Possibly oil from a failed gearbox? The thrust reverser cascades are made from a composite materia...

Re: Marriage Humour....................................
A couple goes out to dinner to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. On the way home, she notices a tear in his eye and asks if he's getting sentimental because they're celebrating 50 wonderful years together. He replies, "No, I was thinking about the time before we got married. Your fathe...

Re: Blacklisting, imported fonts. Two questions....
My only reason for doubting the font, Ben, is that I have no reason to use a Korean font, and I wonder if it's been installed on my system so that Koreans can hijack and use my connection, leading to these blacklist events. There is a list of standard Windows fonts here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Re: Blacklisting, imported fonts. Two questions....
I did a quick lookup and the IP address you mentioned is shown as a fixed line in Victoria, AU, from Southern Phone Corporation. Is it possible that you are seeing a different IP because your modem/router creates a different, internal network that your system is connected to? You have one fixed IP a...
