Re: PC Holy Grail??????
PC Aviator are a company I respect, so I will at least wait and see what this latest flightsimming Holy Grail turns out to be. That said, quoting UltimateDefrag in the same post doesn't exactly increase my excitement level. It looked superb, but crashed constantly for me and the support was nowhere ...

Re: Prepar3D 2.5 is out now
Yep, Henks right about your cfg entries. The effects entry should go in the effects.cfg. There's a fonts.cfg as well, so I've added a user fonts folder to that as well. Actually I'm surprised there isn't a way to specify a user gauges folder in the same way as effects etc, other than setting a spec...

Re: Earth Simulations gone!?
Very sad to read this news. Earth Simulations produced the best scenery in the business and their recent NW Scotland release took scenery development to a whole new level. Thanks to Darren and Vikki for their immense contribution to the hobby and wider community. Good luck to them for the future and...

I'll be going again this year. The last show was superb and it looks like they have even more exhibitors this time.

Good news on both counts!TSR2 wrote:Wes has put a post up today saying that they are going to loosen the XML parser and release the update as a couple of DLL which should fix the compatibility bits that 2.1 introduced. Also they are going to start banning some of the pricks on their forum

Re: Earth Sim UK Gallery
Well, I selected "repair", but it's just downloading the whole lot again 8) They do some great scenery, but their installer is a nightmare. I found it's well worth taking the time to set up ESI-packs, Dave. A few extra hoops to jump through but it can be a great time and bandwidth saver i...

Re: GPS App
Tom, FsMovMap is a free one and works quite well. As Dave said, basically it's just a moving map. You have to install a small server program onto your PC as well, but it's a tiny download and pretty easy.

Hope that helps.

Spotted a very interesting and potentially useful post over at AVSIM, regarding CPU affinity setting and the effect it has on P3Dv2: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/430353-affinity-mask-holy-xxxx-it-works/ Yes, manually setting the affinity mask has had great results for me. I use 84 as I have a quad ...
