Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
My pseudonym was my call sign, but I was ground based in charge of development. Have you tried my Jindivik sim at classicbritishfiles.com? i am in (delayed ) progress making a 'flyable sim Meteor U16 - as opposed to Ricks AI version for the Llanbedr Project. Good luck with the cable - I dodged out o...

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
BTW that link to the Flight Refuelling blurb is way out of date - I think the last Meteor U16 was built/converted back in the '60's!!!
And 60,000 ft of steel stepped cable - that was a dream - it just ain't strong enough, at least for a LLHKT at 300 Kts.

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
As for the length of cable --- I can confirm that we flew on the Aberporth Range 30, 000 ft of cable towing a Low Level Height Keeper target..... I think that Flight Refuelling with some of their special Falcons had winches that could take 45,000 ft using a very special cable. Certainly a compnay in...
Re: Percival
Just to put you in the picture (!) I am in direct touch with Toms father (well by e-mail) over the last week or two & he has been a great help in sending me photos etc. I can now do the next interior stage a make some of the warning notices & placards that are missing from the model at the m...

Re: FSX Tiger Moth in development
Following each other around! I served my apprenticeship at Weybridge (following in my fathers & uncles footsteps). I went into the Mould loft at the end of my apprenticeship working on the VC 10 fuselage & Engine stubs, before moving into the TSR2 Design office in 1961. I left just before th...

Re: FSX Tiger Moth in development
511 flyer - our paths could possibly have crossed at Fairoaks! My log book shows 8 different registrations between 1957 & 1959, now to my aged brain & memory I always thought that they were all fitted with strakes (seeing as they were all ex RAF) & they had tailskids (in those days there...

FSX set up
Is there a setting where one can disable the automatic selection of autopilot in FSX? There does not appear to be a line in the FSX.cfg file. I have downloaded a few FSX native a/c but have found them (initially) to be uncrontrollable because the autopilot seems to be automatically engaged - even th...

Re: Thinking of having a go???
Do not forget the frustration & sore head after bashing you nearesr brick wall!!! Identify each new version that you draw or improve with its own file name & subscript - the software can play tricks & you often need to backtrack! After 3 years slog I'm still frustrated, with a sore head,...

Re: Percival Mew Gull by Oldliner52?
Unfortunately mew_gul2.zip does not have a working VC. So I would be interested in another one that does have a working version!
