FlightGlobal - Commercial Aircraft of the World
Hi All, Whilst I was looking for some other stuff I found in the FlightGlobal archives "Commercial Aircraft of the World" from 1958: Link There's a load of stuff including forums favourites Argosy, Britannia, Comet, Dart Herald, Trident, VC-10, Vanguard and Viscount. Don't know if it's alr...

Re: Rearsby
Hi Leif,
No chart I'm afraid, but perhaps someone at the IAC would be able to help? http://www.austerclub.org
There's a video of a 1997 flyin to Rearsby here, and I think the site is on Google maps here
Edit: Another link http://www.oldairfields.fotopic.net/c1572034.html
Cheers,

Re: Piaggio PD-808RM on avsim
I was trying it last night and it's a nice model. However on approach the 2d view is unworkable, and the VC seems to cause a massive frame rate drop. I've changed the 2D "VIEW_FORWARD_DIR" to 5 down and increased the wing incidence from 0 to 2 degrees so I can at least see where I'm going ...

Re: Ark Royal Traps...
Hi All, I've not posted for a while, but I've heard a third hand story about the last Bucc having problems with the deck landing. The Bucc pilots were RAF, not Navy. On the other aircraft, they had a Navy pilot in the back offering advice, whereas the last guy didn't have a Navy backseater - perhaps...

Re: Vanguard Approach Speed
Thanks Dave, I try to fly a standard profile with most aircraft: 200kts leaving the hold. 180kts till localiser/glideslope then 160kts down the glideslope to 1500ft, thereafter slowing to Vat+10 by 500ft. With the Vanguard, I've been trying reducing the throttle to flight idle whilst at 300ft - seem...

Re: Vanguard Approach Speed
OK, Vat shows as 127 knots. Keyboard throttle control. When over the threshold at 127 knots on the ILS glideslope I close the throttle with F1, this is approximately 130ft above the runway. I fly level just above the runway holding off till the speed bleeds off. When I finally touch down at approx 1...

Re: Vanguard Approach Speed
Hi Garry, The throttle is held at flight idle by the gate, but when my throttle (CH Yoke) is pulled back the throttle on the panel seems to move around slightly, like it's trying to enter the "ground" area then returning to flight idle. I was wondering if this was inadvertently causing mor...

Vanguard Approach Speed
Hi All, I've just found the repackaged Vanguard with Fraser's V5 panel. (Thanks Guys!) I've having a bit of trouble getting it back on the ground though - when arriving over the threshold at the Vat speed, it seems like I float forever before touching down. If I knock 10 knots of the threshold speed...

Re: Hawks in the Loop
Thanks guys, I had a look for Steve Andersons site, but the militaryairfields.com site seems to be unavailable now. I'll wait patiently for the UKMil scenery.
The Photoscenery for FSX looks fantastic!
Cheers,
Graeme
