Re: Boost Gauge Readings
Thanks everbody ! I was pretty sure I had it right - just didn't want to start a war without confirmation. I should have realised the air file could be the cause, since a gauge which worked properly in its original aircraft started going backwards when I called it for a different one :doho: I have A...

Boost Gauge Readings
Just lately, I have been finding some boost gauges which seem to be working backwards. I know have far too many addon aircraft installed, but on some, when I start things up, the boost gauge shows a mildly positive figure, and as I increase the throttle setting, it moves up to something like plus 6l...

Re: Helo afcad parking file
Hi Seaking - Tom Gibson, of CalClassic, recently released some very fine helicopter AI for the classic era. The same gentleman also posts in this forum. I am certain he would be willing to help, if asked. I have learned a lot from the CalClassic forum, and Tom's advice has always been good. His pati...

Re: OOOPPPPS....wrong airport
The best navigational error I know of did not involve aviation at all - quite the opposite in fact.
It was reported on the Beeb website about five years back. The headline read:
"Yorkshire cavers rescued in S-E France" :o
Mustabin a points failure at Peterborough, or summat.

Re: FS9 Start up error message
Brian - Just check that the dll is not also present in the Modules folder, and REM out the reference in the FS9.cfg. If you name it in [OldModules] in the cfg, FS will go looking for it, and the poor thing will get all confused when it doesn't find it. Similarly, if it is in \Modules with no other r...

Re: FS9 Start up error message
Hi - GaugeSound .dll should be placed in your main Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 folder. I believe you can also place it just for specific aircraft, in with the *.air file. It allows various clicks for a variety of switches, including rotary radio tuners. Some people find that annoying and disa...

Re: de Havilland DH.86 Express
Simon -
That is pretty much what I was seeing with the original KI aircraft.
Tony -
Thanks mate, I should have seen it
I saw the LH cfg was derived from Jens' lovely Fokker 12/IIIM, but th'oul brain was well past its use-by, by that time.
Haven't tried the DH 86 in the dark, so far.

Re: de Havilland DH.86 Express
Simon - If you use the Ito mdl with the Lee Holmes air file you can get a pretty good machine. Unfortunately the VC is part of the KI mdl, so there is a mismatch there if you use the LH panel, but the 2D cockpit is OK, although the boost gauge seems to be working backwards...I am thinking of trying ...
