GPU Error Crash Fixed
Finally. After getting back from my travels and hoping for a miracle fix (there wasn't one), I finally did what I should have done months ago. I inserted the TdrLevel parameter, set to 0, into the registry and also set the TdrWatch value to 0. For the first time almost in living memory I got a full flight in of around an hour.
I can go to the ball, or at least get the Vulcan as a Christmas pressie. Much joy!

Pleased to hear that Chris. You will have a ball with the Vulcan, I am honestly very pleased with it and spend all my time flying her.
Don't miss out on some of the instructional videos on YouTube, they have been brilliant in helping me to get to know the aircraft and how to operate it (hate manuals) For using the TACAN I find this very useful in getting the frequencies as my Littlenavmap does not appear to have them.

Re: GPU Error Crash Fixed
I looked for D5 on my W11 computer and it said I could d/l it.
Is it a FS2020 requirement?
Would I get any FSX benefit if I installed it?
'scuse my ignorance.

Re: GPU Error Crash Fixed
AFAIK, It's the programme behind TdrLevel and TdrWatch.
Re: GPU Error Crash Fixed
Tdr (Timeout detection and recovery) is a Windows feature which detects response problems from a graphics card. It can be set or altered, in the registry using variable parameters. If Windows fails to receive a response from the card it will reset the driver. Its sometimes suggested to either increase the delay, or disable altogether, where the response time from a graphics card may be variable due to workload (high intensity graphics processing).
D5, is a rendering application, which may fall into that category of being recommended to disable Tdr

Re: GPU Error Crash Fixed
By switching to HDMI I no longer have a Tdr issue in MSFS. Nor did I have an obvious Tdr problem with anything else, even with the use of the Display Port (no graphics reset messages). I suspect something in the MSFS code is at the root cause of this one.
