To be honest, I wouldn't have liked watching that.

I know what you mean. A spectacular display but I found it a bit uncomfortable to watch. I kept thinking that maybe he’s pushing his luck. EricTTo be honest, I wouldn't have liked watching that.
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!

If you read the comments below the video, the pilot said he thought he had lost it at one stage.I know what you mean. A spectacular display but I found it a bit uncomfortable to watch. I kept thinking that maybe he’s pushing his luck. EricT

I think the word "not" was omitted from the title of this thread . An accident looking for somewhere to happen , and an object lesson in why such tomfoolery has now been stopped . Old pilots and bold pilots.......

Well, that's an airframe with quite a lot less life in it. Spectacular flying though even if a touch foolhardy.

Re: How to fly a DC4.
I'm honestly wondering where the foolhardy is in the display? The 2 maneuvers at 1:50 and beyond are both variants of a Chandelle or Emergency 180 and the only danger is if he unloaded the airplane and then loaded it back, but it doesn't look like that happened. This was a practiced and often flown routine for the SAAF C-54s at airshows, so while maybe not something you do every day in the plane, I don't see how it's unsafe, or unwatchable.
