Real men fly Aeroflot

Old computer gave up it's ghost. New machine set up with FSX (Steam)

Managed to get Project Tupolev's Tu-154 to work very well and it has now become one of the only two aircraft I fly.

The other one is Aerosoft's Airbus A320 . How's that for contrast.

Two huge issues here for me which I never got around to and really wish I had.

1) Learning Cyrillic sufficiently well to understand the switches.

2) The complicated start up procedure, let alone actually going anyplace in it.

3) The A320 - yet to figure out the weird throttle arrangement

Three issues

If I ever get FSX up and running again......... 8)

The PT Tu-154 is a plane I've attempted to master on several occasions over the years. Emphasis on "attempted". I've never found the right intersection of time vs. patience to fully commit to comprehending the bloody thing. Much respect to any non-native Russian speaker who's managed to get the most out of this plane. Definitely on my FS 'bucket list'. Someday...

Have to admit it looks extremely good but one thing that will stop me getting it is the fact that it is all Russian and I don't want to sit there with a Russian dictionary trying to translate what each switch does.

Nigle.

If you wish to fly Aeroflot you must not forget to be drunk when you get into the cockpit.

I've got a soft spot for the Tu-154. Like a Trident with big enough engines! Never tried it in FSX though - like others, put off by the Cyrillic alphabet, and (I'd expect) metric altimeters.

To be fair it is United and Delta pilots that have been culpable in recent memory. :guinn:

Thanks for the video. Well explained. I d/l the vid for later ref.

FYI I use https://www.ytddownloader.com/ to d/l YT videos - it is safe and avoids the sometimes difficulty in refinding a video or indeed when t'internet is down.
