Which Flight Sim Would Be Great For My Next Laptop?

Post by Aharon »

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Which flight sim do any of you think will be perfect for my next new laptop that I am shopping around. Of course a new laptop will be awesome hot rod powerful system.

I tried to create poll but that subforum does not have polling function.

Please pick the choice of flight sim. Remember that the next flight sim must be able to use ALL freeware add-ons of planes and sceneries. That includes all CBFSIM plane products!!

FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2

FSX Acceleration

FSX Stream

FSX Stream Premium (FSX Stream bundled with payware goodies such as REX)

Lockheed P3D

Please pick one and tell why.

Regards,

Aharon

If you want to be 100% compatible then it's got to be FSX Acceleration.
Personally I use P3d though. Couldn't go back to FSX now!

IMHO, It depends how powerful the graphics card on the laptop is, if its REALLY good, get P3d as it is really a step up from FSX. FSX Steam is really the same as FSX Accel, recompiled for more modern hardware. On my system I have installed P3d and FSX SP2 (and steam but I don't use it, just for testing). Acceleration introduced a bug that made autopilot unusable with x16 acceleration that steam never fixed, but p3d did, but there are some aircraft that don't work well in P3d so I use SP2 for those.

Thanks, Blanston

Sound like that I should stick with FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2!!! My next laptop will have 3 or 4 GB dedicated video ram.

Bought new computer. It is 2.6-3.5 GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad-Core Skylake sixth generation, 16GB ram, 6 GB dedicated Nivida GT1080 video ram, 1 TB hard drive at 7,200 rpm, 260 GB SSD hard drive, internal DVD drive, and 15.6 inch screen. Will take me time to install FSX and all add-ons!!

With something like that Aharon.. I'd be tempted to go for P3D. Not sure if a top end of 3.5gig will set your lap on fire but the 1080 with 6gb will certainly do the trick ;)
