Rob Richardson Scimitar F1 released.
Hi Chaps,
A quick HU to let you know that Rob has released his Scimitar F1 for FSX/P3D. For some reason.. a download link is 'by request' meaning you have to drop Rob a line and ask for it. I've already done this but MS SmartScreen isn't letting me download the file. I'm sure it'll be sorted soon

Re: Rob Richardson Scimitar F1 released.
I emailed Rob re the SmartScreen warning and he said he had the same so just downloaded it anyway. I did likewise
The model carries Rob's usual trademarks.. an easy-going FD (you don't have to fight it and there's no annoying compressor stall) and.. important for a carrier model.. you can see the deck Despite getting a fair bit of lift off the flaps.. those barn doors don't give the drag you'd expect so take time to slow or use the speed brakes which will have you tight against the harness Not had a chance to check the internals yet so can't comment. The model comes with one paint (see above) and no sign of a PK yet.. needed to paint her up for Victorious which we have lots of Sounds are a bit 'friendly' so you might want to put something more obnoxious in their place but don't let that put you off. It's fun and I like it.. something I could never say about the Alpha/Virtavia model
I think this is Rob's first attempt with Blender (he's finally ditched FSDS) and I can't say the model suffers in any way

Paint kit for Scimitar, should you require.

As to the “smartscreen” filter issue, not sure why MS has suddenly made it very difficult to download anything from sendspace but it can be easily temporarily turned off
By going to the tools icon, top right of screen, safety tag and “turn off smartscreen”.
Does anyone know a better free program than Sendspace for uploading/downloading large files?

Re: Rob Richardson Scimitar F1 released.
Thanks for the HU Dave, and Rob for the model.
I'll be sending a link request when I get home.
Looks to be very nicely modelled, never could get my head around Blender!

For sending large files, I use Dopbox (free) Rob, having got fed-up with Sendspace.

Rob..
I'd already downloaded the PK from Sendspace but I've just tried the Dropbox link and it worked faultlessly. You get a prompt to sign up for an account but this is always the way with Dropbox. Clear the box.. hit the download button again and down it comes

Not doing much by way of flight simming at the moment, but I needed some light relief from worldly concerns this morning. Just a few minutes spent trying her out, and she's a definite keeper. Very well done, Rob - a beautiful model.
