ZA150 at Dunsfold. I've joined the Brooklands Museum as a volunteer to help keep her in a taxiable condition. We had out first visit yesterday to look her over.

Mike...yes they have propellers...little ones with lots of blades kept in a streamlined tube

The Vanguard has very nice big propellers...In fact when I flew them they were the biggest props in service...I think they were over 14 feet in diameter

Which was a problem in that they did not have a big enough separation laterally between them, which caused the high frequency vibration & every thing to rattle in the aircraft! I think the 951's were better than the uprated 952's & 3's.

Britannia and CL-44 had 16 foot units...made a nice deep tone

Will do. One of the first jobs is going to be to de-panel the freight holds and anywhere else we can get to remove the insulation and apply water dispersant. The insulation makes makes great blotting paper to absorb water and kick off corrosion. Fortunately the main cabin back from about where the aft pax door is on a Standard 10 has no trim or insulation so that will make the job a lot easier.

The interior is starting to get damp now and as you can see from the second picture we removed the o/wing exits to get some air through her. Airflow is somewhat restricted as the only door that opens is the fwd service door, the rest are sealed. We will have to investigate if we can get to cargo door operative again.
